Trisha Francisco is originally from South Eastern Pennsylvania. She is the sole owner and operator of Cross Town Pet Care, LLC and has worked professionally and personally with both small and large animals off and on since childhood

In the beginning she gave the more "academic life" a go and attended Muhlenberg College directly after High School graduation. The original educational goals included going for a masters degree in psychology and more strongly leaning toward a law degree. However, schooling ultimately didn’t fit in to Trisha’s plans which resulted in many years in the horse world working for some of our country’s finest horse trainers and competitors. After coming to grips that the horse world was not quite what she wanted she then entered the property management and vacation rental fields in South West Florida for eight years. Finally, in 2005, after missing working with animals and having been back at the family horse farm for a year she very happily gave in completely to the "call of the animals" and hasn't looked back since.

Animals have always been an intrinsic and unavoidable part of her life as she has always been surrounded by numerous family members that are or were involved with working with animals. Just to rattle off a few, her father is a large animal veterinarian with his own practice, she has one aunt who is a top dog breeder with regular wins at the top dog shows and who also has a thriving horse farm, as well as another aunt is also heavily involved in the horse world and now runs some of our top competitions in the United States. From 1980, at the age of five, Trisha, spent the majority of her childhood and teenage years at the family farm, Pleasant Hollow Farms.

Pleasant Hollow was a seventy horse competition/training/lesson/working student/boarding facility started by her grandmother that was eventually handed over to her mother, aunt and uncle, with her aunt and uncle running the business until 2007. As a result of her "horsey upbringing" she spent many dedicated years working the farm, showing, training, training horses and teaching others to ride. Her specialty was Three-Day Eventing, which in 2008 was dubbed as one of the "world’s most dangerous sports" by Bryant Gumbel. Prior to 1994 she competed through the Intermediate Level, on her top horse, Kingdom Kirk, until an injury prevented further progress. Back then Three-Day Eventing included dressage, roads and tracks, steeplechase, cross-country and stadium. Today it’s been watered down a bit, however it is still a beautiful sport. useventing.com

Being an entrepreneur and animal person by nature led her to starting Cross Town Pet Care, LLC. She always strived to have a rewarding business that she would love and could be passionate about. It took about 12 years and two other business attempts to finally get here, but now that it’s happened it’s a sure match! She just wishes she would've figured it out sooner!

Trisha believes that one needs to keep up with the education and what is going on in one's industry, subsequently she regularly attends grooming conferences, networks with other groomers, regularly utilizes grooming training materials and is a graduate of a pet grooming academy.

On an even more personal note, she is the loving "mom" of her two rescued dogs, Kahlua (catahoula/pit mix) and Spike (chow/border mix). When she gets the chance she follows her other passions which include cooking, going to the beach, reading, antiquing, wineries, restaurants with excellent food regardless of the atmosphere, road trips, exploring unique towns, working on what started as a childhood project; a cookbook, that might be published one day, photography, tending to and enjoying her orchid collection, and enjoying the outdoors. As far as her taste in music she primarily listens to country, blues and jazz music.

This business is dedicated in loving memory to Trisha’s mother, Amy Cory Francisco (deceased May 2005) and her grandmother, Joan Hunt Cory (deceased July 2007). A big special thank you to Becca Sharp, 3Encores, a friend who has been amazing help with getting Cross Town Pet Care off the ground and of course with her wonderful work on the website and online store. Also a big thank you to Stacey & Judy who created the logo, brochure and business card designs!
